New Email Addresses at Rounded Digital

We’ve been getting reports of emails from Rounded Digital team members landing in spam mailboxes, so this is email is to notify you that we are in the process of migrating our team email addresses from example@wearerounded.com to example@roundeddigital.com.

Thank you in advance for your patience as we get everything moved over! Our old email addresses are still active, and forwarding to the new addresses for at least 3 months or so — so no stress if you forget.

We’ll let you know if and when anything changes, however, please do look in your spam folder because you may find an email or two from the team if they have tried to contact you.

Here are our new email addresses:

  1. Kyle Dill – Kyle@roundeddigital.com
  2. Justin Harned – Justin@roundeddigital.com
  3. Quinn O’Neill – Quinn@roundeddigital.com
  4. Colin Mulligan – Colin@roundeddigital.com

What is the reason for this?

After investigating, we found that our domain name (wearerounded.com) was added to a domain blocklist (DBL) that is managed by an international organization called SpamHaus. They play a role in tracking spam and related cyber-related threats such as phishing, malware and botnets.

What steps are we taking to resolve this issue?

We have submitted a request to be removed from this list, and that’s about all we can do beyond moving away from using wearerounded email addresses.

What exactly classifies an email as spam?

An electronic message is “spam” if:

  1. the recipient’s personal identity and context are irrelevant because the message is equally applicable to many other potential recipients; AND
  2. the recipient has not verifiably granted deliberate, explicit, and still-revocable permission for it to be sent.

What gives, Rounded? Why you spamming people?

If you can believe this, we managed to land on the blocklist without sending a single email that would classify as spam by SpamHaus’ technical definition.

Every email we send to prospective clients is sent manually, one-by-one, and I believe this is maybe the third email my team has sent in bulk, and only to active clients in our portfolio. We don’t even send a newsletter out every month (for now).

Should I be worried about this happening to my domain?

This is the first instance I’ve ever encountered such an issue in my previous 8 years in this line of work. I’ve heard of this happening, but never had to actually work to rectify this issue before.

I tend to play the odds, but I will definitely be monitoring this a little bit closer in the future. To do this yourself, you can see if your domain name is listed in SpamHaus from this link here. I would recommend doing a search by both methods (IP address and domain name). You can find your IP address by typing this into Google: What is my IP Address?.

Again, thank you all for your patience as we get this all worked out! If you feel like you might have an email that has been missed in the last month or so, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly by email (kyle@roundeddigital.com) or by phone. This is my cell: (951) 757-5229.
