Job Description

We are looking for a WordPress Web Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, which could later include development of WordPress themes and plugins.

As an outstanding candidate, you are self-motivated hustler and a natural-born leader. This role will require you to interact and engage with clients on a regular basis, and we are seeking a candidate that is genuinely vested in their success. Additionally, you possess a strong understanding of business and willingness to learn how our clients’ businesses operate, what opportunities they’re seeking in growth, and how you can provide the greatest value for them as a representative of Rounded Digital.

Responsibilities

This position requires proficiency in e-commerce, integration of APIs, manipulation of WordPress themes and plugins, and handling/moving of files in different hosting environments. This position also requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetic savviness (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on)

  • Develop and maintain robust, well-planned, impressive websites that perform well in search results and convert at rates greater than industry standards.
  • Develop new UX/UI features that can be replicated on other sites.
  • Actively participate in optimizing our development process by driving automation, building and archiving reusable codebases, implementing cutting edge technologies and performance standards.
  • Recognize, mitigate and help resolve financial or timeline issues with clients, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Help ensure the technical feasibility of projects prior to new client onboarding.
  • Develop and manage website architectures.
  • Optimize sites for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Implement tracking codes/pixels (analytics, social ads, etc.).
  • Collaborate with other team members and clients, manage client onboarding procedures, and maintain regular, open and honest communication.
  • Assist in the management of quality assurance and performance audits.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by engaging in continual learning, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional training websites and publications.
  • Work onsite in our Denver location and sometimes at client locations.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Greater than 3 years experience in the development role (consistent freelance or agency setting)
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a great foundation of current best practices in web and mobile standards, design, and emerging technologies & framework.
  • Possess the ability to maintain personal standards higher than that of the client and teammates.
  • Capable of autonomous work towards established goals, not being shy about asking questions when more information is needed, and raising concerns when they become apparent.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.
  • Proficiency in interacting with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
