Discovery Engineering partnered with Rounded Digital to rebuild its website around a highly specialized audience: attorneys who need an experienced forensic electrical, telecommunications, wireless, cellular, or GPS expert.

Led by Mark A. McFarland, PE, Discovery Engineering works with plaintiff and defense counsel nationwide on complex civil and criminal matters. The new website launched in August 2026 with clearer practice areas, stronger professional positioning, and an SEO structure designed around the technical issues attorneys actually research when evaluating an expert witness.

Challenge

Discovery Engineering has decades of engineering experience spanning electrical systems, telecommunications, wireless technology, cellular records, GPS data, radio frequency engineering, failure analysis, and quality sciences.

That breadth is an advantage in litigation, where cases rarely fit neatly into a single technical category. Online, however, it created a positioning challenge.

The website needed to immediately tell attorneys what Mark does, establish credibility without burying visitors in technical language, and make a complex range of expertise easy to navigate. It also needed to distinguish consulting and expert-witness services from traditional engineering services and support a nationwide practice rather than a purely local market.

Strategy

Our strategy was built around the questions litigators are likely to ask when evaluating an expert: Does this engineer understand the technology involved? Has he worked cases like mine? Can he explain complicated evidence clearly? And will his opinions hold up under scrutiny?

We organized the site around seven primary practice areas, including electrical and electronics engineering, cellular records analysis, GPS data analysis, telecommunications and wireless, radio frequency engineering, failure analysis, and quality sciences.

Each area was given its own search purpose while reinforcing Mark’s broader multidisciplinary expertise. We also positioned experience, credentials, retained matters, publications, and courtroom work as supporting evidence rather than allowing credentials alone to dominate the story.
